Tip n°6 : Coffee

This week I'm going to talk about ☕️ CAFÉ ☕️ ...


But why on earth should we talk about coffee ❓❓❓


Well because it is often considered an ugly duckling ... black 😄 of health 😟 ... it is even said to be harmful 😟😟😟 ... but first "we" is who 😉❓.


It was reading 👓 a very interesting article that gave me the idea to restore a bit the image of this 'dark' beverage ⚜️ ...

We start with an anecdote: coffee ☕️ is competing for the star of "the most drunk drink in the world" with tea 🍵 ... and the winner 🏆 is: tea 🍵 I think, but the article says it is coffee 🤷♀️ ... well ... never mind ... come on, let's keep going 😄 ...


Yes, coffee ☕️ has many virtues, it stimulates our little grey cells 🧠 thanks to the caffeine it contains ... but it doesn't stop there.


Coffee promotes the production of oxytocin and dopamine, both of which have a key role in well-being and pleasure 😌😁😊 but beware ❌ , dopamine is also responsible for addiction phenomena 😵💫 ...


The article rightly asks the question "Would coffee be the drug of happiness ❓"


It is true that when I accompany fasting groups, one aspect that is sometimes quite difficult is the removal of coffee in the morning 🙈.


Anyway, coffee is very rich in antioxidants, just like fruits 🍓 and vegetables 🥕 but also wine 🍷 , dark chocolate 🍫 and tea 🍵 of course!


Antioxidants are those substances that fight against what are called free radicals, those molecules that accelerate the ageing of our cells 🧬🧬🧬 and are a source of inflammation 😫 .


Too many free radicals promote the occurrence of chronic diseases such as cancers, cardiovascular problems, type 2 diabetes or inflammatory diseases 😩 .

But beware ❗️❗️ Free radicals we produce every day, by the simple functioning of our body, and this is normal.

However tobacco 🚬 , alcohol 🥃 , stress 🤯 or too much sport 🚵♂️ ... yes, yes ... we can do "too much sport" ... increase their production which becomes excessive and makes us age faster 👎.


Coffee ☕️ is also rich in magnesium.


Due to its richness in antioxidants, it is said that drinking coffee ☕️ increases life expectancy 😄 ... well, I haven't been to check 🤦♀️ but it seems plausible ... in any case, what allows us to live longer is, among other things, a healthy diet, with quality and varied foods ... and coffee ☕️ then!!!


However, one could blame coffee ☕️ that it is roasted, which means roasted.

This kind of process creates toxic substances ⛔️ , such as acrylamide, with carcinogenic properties ⛔️⛔️⛔️ .


Let me reassure you right away 😊 , you'd still have to drink a lot of it for it to have an impact on our health ... so the benefits outweigh that little inconvenience 😅 .


❌ Be careful though with soluble, so-called instant coffee, which contains much more acrylamide than ground coffee.


And you know the drill by now 🎶🎶🎶 : "you can eat it all ... or drink it all ... it's just a matter of balance ⚖️ " ...

So of course, we'll refrain from drinking gallons of it 😜.


But ... eh yes ... there's often a but in my stories 🙄 ... coffee ☕️ is not good for everyone ✋ another refrain of this same song is 🎵 "we are all different" ♫.


So ... if you're stressed 😟 , if your heart 🫀 tends to beat too fast or race, if you have high blood pressure, a weak gut or stomach problems 😞 ... coffee and you don't mix 😬 ... no ... no ... and if you're having trouble sleeping, well don't consume it after 2pm.


Since coffee stimulates, over-consumption will cause your body to become exhausted 😵💫😓🤢 , without you necessarily realising it ... well yes, it stimulates!!!


And don't think that decaf can be a great substitute. Indeed, the process used to remove the caffeine (decaffeination) uses solvents 😬 not at all recommendable 😶.

And if we go back to our song 🎼 "we can drink it all ... balance ... etc ..." 🎼 ... so I would add: "a decaf here and there won't do any damage" 😅😅😅 .


This is all well and good, you might say, but then how much coffee ☕️ can you consume every day ❓❓❓


To get its benefits, 3 cups ☕️ per day is a good average, this however varies from person to person ... yes, yes ... 🎶 the song 🎶 ... and a lesser amount may suit you better 👍 .


So ❓ Are you more tea or coffee ❓❓❓ .
