Tip n°26 : The fever

After chocolate 🍫 and honey 🍯, today let's talk about a wonderful mechanism whose role is often overlooked or misinterpreted. I'm going to tell you about FEVER 🤒. Often, when our body temperature rises above 37.5°C, it's a battle 🙆‍♀️🙆🙆‍♂️ to find an aspirin or a doliprane (paracetamol) in order to quickly bring it down 😁. Stooooop…. 🙅‍♀️🙅🙅‍♂️ What if I told you that, most of the time, fever is your friend ❓❓❓

Yes, it is already a sign of the excellent vitality of your body 💫, your body is anything but asleep: it REACTS to a microbe 🦠 which has "dared" to cross the first protective barriers 🚧 such as the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract 👃. It's true, I've already told you, that we are all different and some have a fever more often than others... quite simply... no more, no less... 🤷‍♀️. If you have a fever 🤒, it's a sign that your body has started a fantastic defense mechanism: increase its temperature, with the goal of healing itself 😮 💨😪🤧. Fever heals ❓❓❓ But how ❓❓❓ Did you know that most microbes 🦠 do not survive heat? Yes yes … And that's not all ! By increasing the rhythm of your heart 🫀 and the speed of your blood circulation, fever 🌡️ accelerates the arrival of your precious white blood cells where they are needed, that is to say where the microbes are 🦠🦠🦠 !

👉 A quick note in passing: when it comes to microbes 🦠, I'm talking about bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi... but in addition to microbes 🦠, we can also sometimes include toxins like the ones that make us so sick in case of food poisoning for example 🤢! Fever 🤒 also has the effect of stimulating the elimination of microbes 🦠 by a certain type of white blood cell as well as the production of another type of white blood cell to make antibodies. I will spare you the names of these famous white blood cells because it does not add anything to my story which I hope you are passionate about so far 😃!

To be brief, we can therefore say that fever 🤒 is the best friend of our immune system, it is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory and therefore a great ally to heal quickly 😁!!! We can therefore also say that if you bring it down too quickly with medication 💊, you risk being sick 🤧😮‍💨😪 longer and more severely because you are depriving yourself of an important self-healing mechanism. .

Yes, our body is our best doctor 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ and a real pharmacy 💊! 🙌 It is important at this stage to provide some details in order to remain cautious!

The above is valid for adults and children over 6 years old … if and only if the general condition is good 🙂, the fever is not too high and the water intake 💦 is sufficient … pay attention to dehydration ! The fever must be short-lived, a few days at most, otherwise it loses its effectiveness and exhausts the body 😓. In all other cases, you will need to seek the advice of a health professional 🏥. Great caution is required in young children 👶, pregnant women 🤰, the elderly 👵 and in all people whose state of health is fragile 😓, a visit to the doctor will be essential.

One last point which is also very important: if you have a fever 🤒: drink plenty of water 🚰 but eat as little as possible 🍽️, or even not at all 🍴 if you are not hungry. This will allow your body to use the energy of digestion for healing 👍 … you can't do everything at the same time: digest and heal 😉. It is indeed wrong to believe that you have to eat when you are sick to "gain strength"... it's just the opposite that happens 😉! 👉👉👉 Fever is therefore not a disease but a powerful self-healing mechanism. Even the Nobel Prize in Medicine André Lwoff demonstrated this more than 50 years ago... but sometimes we seem to have forgotten it 🙄. Fever is (almost) never the problem, it is (almost) always the solution. This is the essential element of your immune defenses 💪, fever heals!

On these good words, I wish you a good day 🌇 or evening 🌃 it depends and I say to you: come on, ✨✨✨ Miam la Vie ✨✨✨ see you soon !!!
