In our life as women, there is a transition period ๐๏ธ which is often delicate ๐ฌ and sometimes even a little taboo ๐. Some women live it very well and for others it's a real hell ๐ต ๐ซ. Today I'm going to talk about a big topic: MENOPAUSE. So vast that I'm going to need two tips to be able to process it, otherwise it's a book ๐ that I risk writing ๐ ! ๐ To begin with, it is necessary to make things clear ๐: menopause is not a disease but a normal passage in the life of all women โ
We speak of menopause when menstruation has been absent for at least a year. It is the consequence of the stoppage of the functioning of the ovaries which no longer produce hormones. This change of state rarely happens overnight, most often the cycle begins to 'mess up' ๐ฅบ, the periods become irregular, are more abundant or even hemorrhagic ๐ฃ. This 'bazaar' is the consequence of a more or less important hormonal imbalance ๐ฌ. Some women go through this period 'like a letter to the post' ๐ฎ but for many others it's much more complicated and many inconveniences can occur, some being sometimes terribly disabling ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฌ. And as if that weren't enough, it can last for years ๐ฑ! Hot flashes ๐ฅ, weight gain โ๏ธ, sleep problems ๐ด, mood swings ๐ซ, fatigue ๐, frequent urination ๐ฅ, fickle memory ๐คฏ, joint pain ๐ฅบ, palpitations ๐ตโ๐ซ, changes in skin, hair and/or nails, vaginal dryness, low libido, dizziness ๐, blood circulation disorders ๐ฉธ not to mention bleeding periods ๐ฉธ๐ฉธ๐ฉธ accompanied by a significant premenstrual syndrome ๐. Here is an overview, certainly not exhaustive, of the different problems that can arise when your hormones are crazy ๐คช! It's not very folichon ๐ณ and courage is needed, sometimes a lot โ But we are here to give solutions, right โ โ Beforehand, three points deserve special attention:
๐ Weight gain โ๏ธ It is normal to gain a few pounds in the abdominal area ... yes, yes. โAs surprising as it may seem, this phenomenon is of great use ๐. Even if your ovaries decide it's time for them to pack their bags ๐ and go on vacation ๐๏ธ, they don't have exclusive hormonal secretion ๐. You have two small glands, the adrenals, located just above your kidneys, which continue to make hormones, and these are transformed into estrogens ๐ (female hormones). Guess where โโโ In this little bead at the level of the belly โ It therefore deserves all your indulgence and kindness because it does you great service and protects you ๐. This is one of the reasons why draconian diets are totally contraindicated ๐ โโ๏ธ during this period and during any other period for that matter ๐ โโ๏ธ๐ โโ๏ธ๐ โโ๏ธ! Forget diets โ Their long-term effectiveness is less than 5% anyway!!! All that for that โ It's NO โ It is therefore better to have a few extra pounds than too few, the body will age less quickly ๐. It is true that at menopause, the metabolism slows down ๐ somewhat and weight gain is sometimes much more important . Food plays a key role here ๐ฅ, not only to avoid violent arguments with your balance ๐คฌ but above all to reduce the intensity of all the symptoms associated with this transition phase. It's also true that it's easier said than done because when you're down โน๏ธ, you don't really rush on vegetables ๐ฅ๐. ๐ Hot flashes ๐ฅต Stopping periods deprives the body of an important elimination mechanism ๐๏ธ. Hot flashes are there to take over in a way, they represent an ingenious replacement physiological mechanism to eliminate toxins ๐ฎ. They are therefore very useful. The more the body will be overloaded with toxins (stress, diet, weight, and everything else... life ๐!), the more disabling the hot flashes will be ๐ฅต ๐ฅต ๐ฅต . The goal is therefore not to eliminate them completely but to reduce their intensity . Waking up at night in your bed feeling like you're in your bath ๐ ... or in the shower ๐ฟ ... I'll let you choose ... or feel a few light 'vapours' from time to time โจ๏ธ or hot shots, it's not the same thing at all โ ๐ Thyroid At menopause it can weaken and become a little lazy ๐. My advice: during a blood test always ask to check it ๐.
